How to use your Fitbit Versa 2

Fitbit basics

Wear your Versa 2 everyday to track a variety of stats.

  • Steps taken

See your stats on Versa 2

From the clock face, swipe up to see your key health & fitness stats for today. Display up to 7 of the following stats on Versa 2:

  • Core stats: steps taken today, calories burned, distance covered, and active minutes
  • Hourly steps: steps taken this hour and the number of hours you took 250+ steps or more
  • Heart rate: current heart rate, average resting heart rate, heart rate zones and cardio fitness score
  • Exercise: number of days you exercised
  • Cycle track: days on or until period or fertile window
  • Sleep: current time slept, average time slept and time spent in various sleep stages
  • Water: log water from your wrist
  • Food: current calories logged and percent macronutrients
  • Weight: current weight and weight left to lose or gain; log weight from your wrist
  • Badges: potential badges you can unlock

Swipe over on each tile to see the complete stat.

To reorder the tiles, press and hold a row, then drag it up or down to change its position.

Daily goal

Versa 2 celebrates when you reach your main goal. By default, it's set to 10,000 steps. Your step count resets every day at midnight. You can change your main goal in the Fitbit app.

Reminders to Move

Reminders to Move help you get moving every hour. Throughout your day, try to hit 250 steps each hour.

Customize the hours you receive reminders in the Fitbit app.

Exercise

Swipe left on the display to see the Exercise app. It tracks specific exercises and gives you more precise heart rate and other stats.

Choose from run, bike, weights and more. Run and bike will have a connected GPS option to map your route.

Real-time pace & distance

Connect to your phone's GPS to see stats on your wrist during runs and rides. To track real-time pace and distance, make sure GPS and Bluetooth are enabled on your phone and keep your phone with you while you exercise.

Heart rate

Versa 2 tracks your current and resting heart rate with PurePulse® technology. If you track a workout through the Exercise app, it will display your heart rate zone (e.g., fat burn, cardio or peak).

Log into the Fitbit app to see how your overall cardio fitness compares to others.

Sleep stages & Sleep Score

Versa 2 gives you data without disturbance. All you have to do is wear it to bed and wake up to new stats.

Sleep Stages

View your time spent asleep in light, deep and REM sleep from the Fitbit app.

Sleep Score

Get to know your night with a daily sleep quality score. Your score sums up time asleep, sleep stages and restlessness.

Sleep mode & silent alarm

Your device has a sleep mode that allows you to dim the display and silence all calls and texts. Set a silent alarm, and awake to a gentle vibration on your wrist.

Silent alarms

Set a silent alarm on Versa 2. Your device gently vibrates to wake you up in the morning or alert you at a certain time of day.

If you don't dismiss an alarm, it goes off again in 9 minutes.

Notifications

Swipe down on the display to show all notifications for calls, texts, calendar events. You will receive incoming notifications when your phone and Versa 2 are within range.

An incoming notification causes your device to gently vibrate. If you don't read it in time, it will hide itself.

Tap a notification to respond with quick replies (Android only).

Quick replies (Android only)

You can respond directly to texts and messages from certain messaging apps. To set up quick replies, go into notifications for Versa 2 within the Fitbit app.

Emoji & custom text

Add and store emojis or custom text replies on your Versa 2. Just tap a notification and respond.

Voice reply

Versa 2 lets you speak your replies directly to text messages and notifications from select apps. This feature uses the built-in microphone to transcribe messages. Otherwise, the microphone is off.

Note: This feature is only available if you pair Versa 2 to an Android phone running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later.

Amazon Alexa

Versa 2 is all you need to use voice control with Alexa. You can talk to Alexa on your Fitbit device. Set up Alexa and do more with your watch!

Friendly Reminders

Set reminders, alarms or start a timer simply with your voice.

Stay up to date

Check for weather and get quick answers to almost any question.

Access smart devices

Use your voice to control Alexa-compatible speakers, lights or thermostat. To use this feature, download the Amazon Alexa app and connect other smart devices to that account.

*Third-party app may be required; Amazon Alexa not available in all countries, see fitbit.com/voice.

Always-on display

Use this mode to see activity stats and check the time with just a glance. You will see the clock, battery life and a few Fitbit stats.

To enable the always-on display, go to Settings on Versa 2. This feature will impact battery life.

Control Center

Swipe down on the display to get to the device control center. This is where you can reach Fitbit Pay, music controls and quick settings.

Fitbit Pay

Fitbit Pay-enabled devices include a built-in NFC chip, allowing you to use eligible credit and debit cards on your Versa 2. Make purchases in stores that accept contactless payments—even when you’re traveling internationally.

Pin Code

Set a personal 4-digit PIN code to help keep your Versa 2 secure. A PIN code is required to use Fitbit Pay.

Music controls

Control songs playing from your phone if it's within range of Versa 2.

Use Versa 2 with Bluetooth headphones to play, pause or pass by songs without using your phone

Quick settings

Use this menu to reach 5 common settings for your device:

Do not disturb

Silences calls and notifications, so you will not be bothered by vibrations from Versa 2.

Sleep mode

Silences calls and notifications to help you sleep without disturbance. Raising your wrist will not wake the display if sleep mode is on.

Screen Wake

Allows the screen to wake up and show the time if you turn your wrist towards you. Screen wake will not work if sleep mode is on.

Always-on display

Display stays on to show the clock, battery life and a few stats.

Brightness

Choose dim, normal or max brightness for your display. The brightness will also automatically adjust based on your light source.

Clock faces

Versa 2 comes with different clock faces to match your mood, lifestyle or look. Change your clock face in the Fitbit app.

Apps

Swipe left on the display to see your apps. Versa 2 comes preloaded with free apps to help you meet your health & fitness needs.

Tap an app to open it.

Press the side button to go back.

To change the placement of an app, press and hold an app until it's selected, and then drag it to a new location. You know the app is selected when it increases slightly in size and the watch vibrates.

Charge your device

To charge, pinch open the bottom of the charger clamp and place your Versa 2 into the charger while aligning the gold pins.

Versa 2 will display a battery level indicator. Charging may take up to 2 hours, depending on the current power level.

Your fully charged Fitbit Versa 2 has a battery life of 4+ days. Note that battery life and charge cycles vary with use, settings and many other factors; actual results will vary.

Change out your band

Versa 2 comes with a small wristband attached and an additional large bottom band in the box.

To remove: Slide ball pin inwards to release band.

To attach: Insert the pin in the left hole first. Keep band at an upwards angle. Then slide the ball pin inwards while pushing the band into the slot.

Wear & care tips

  • Clean your band and wrist regularly with a gentle cleanser.

  • If the device gets wet, remove and dry completely after your activity.

  • Take your device off from time to time.
